Victoria's Multicultural Festival

Dance to the beat of Cultural Diversity Week at Victoria’s Multicultural Festival on Sunday 20 March 2016.

Once a year, the iconic Federation Square is transformed into a multicultural hub showcasing the very best of Victoria’s rich diversity at Victoria’s Multicultural Festival.

This FREE, family-friendly celebration of Victoria’s cultural, linguistic and religious diversity boasts a unique program of live music and cultural performances from some of our state’s best multicultural performers.

You can sample a range of global food and drink, enjoy the rhythms and beats of Victoria’s culturally diverse music and dance scene, experience traditional artisan methods and browse the world marketplace for arts and crafts from cultures representing five continents.

Come along to enjoy the many free activities held throughout the day, including, language workshops, AFL sports activities, mosaic exhibition, dedicated Kid’s Zone, roving performers and moving art exhibitions.

Formerly known as Viva Victoria, Victoria’s Multicultural Festival is proudly presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC).

VMC Chairperson Ms Helen Kapalos encourages all Victorians to get involved and share in our rich cultural, religious and linguistic diversity by proudly wearing the Cultural Diversity Week orange ribbon.

“Our cultural diversity is central to what makes Victoria one of the best places to live in the world.  This week is our opportunity to celebrate our rich cultural, linguistic and religious diversity and I encourage all Victorians to take part.”
