NATIONAL CYBER-SECURITY COURSES NOW AVAILABLE AT TAFE NSW

 TAFE NSW yesterday responded to significant growth in the cyber-security industry by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Box Hill Institute of TAFE in Victoria to deliver cyber-security courses in NSW from next year.

 The Certificate IV and Advanced Diploma courses, which were developed in Victoria, are being adopted by TAFE NSW and will be offered to students in 2018 for the first time.

 The Minister responsible for TAFE NSW Adam Marshall said it was encouraging to see TAFE NSW responding to market demand and providing quality training to students in this emerging field.

 “Cybercrime is a growing threat that has created unprecedented demand for professionals who can secure and monitor IT systems and protect personal and organisational privacy,” Mr Marshall said. 

 “The NSW Government is delivering the skilled workforce for the future by making students employment-ready in rapidly growing industries such as cyber-security.

 “TAFE NSW offers practical, industry-led and accredited training with the NSW Government offering a range of financial assistance to those who want to gain in demand qualifications.

 “This course has had great success in Victoria and is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority, and will bring much needed talent and skills to the NSW economy.”
